300 km North of Kota Kinabalu lies the 'Jewel of the Borneo
Banks' Layang-Layang Island. It's Coral walls plunge a
staggering 6000 feet (2000 meters) down to the floor of
the South China Sea. Venturing below the surface of the
sparkling blue water, you'll be met with an average
visibility of 150 feet (50 meters) and find a dive
destination that is largely unexplored. |

May is the best time to see schools of scalloped
hammerhead sharks, which gather to perform mating
rituals. Best time to visit is April through October.
